The Long Play is Growing up

A new home awaits us...

This is the last newsletter I’ll send from Beehiiv.

That feels strange to write.

When I started TLP two years ago I wasn’t trying to build a media platform or a business. I was trying to answer a question I couldn’t shake: why does nobody really talk about the money and business behind sport?

There’s lots of content about the football results. There’s lots about transfer gossip. But what about the structures underneath it all?

Well, this year confirmed something for me. Loudly.

The business of sport is rather compelling. And judging by the messages, replies, and growth this year, a lot of you feel the same way too! All of those messages has caused my conviction to shift.

TLP is now a platform and it feels like the early stages of something real.

So this email is a thank you. And a line drawn under this chapter.

From Thursday, everything moves to Substack. That’s where the writing will live, where some of the videos will be supported, and where the next phase of TLP will properly take shape. Monday onwards, newsletters resume as normal, just from a new home.

On January 1st comes the next video “LeBron James’ Business Empire”. You guys voted for this one, and my word does that man make a lot of money.

Also on January 1st, I’ll send a more reflective piece called Two Years of The Long Play. It’s personal. It’s honest. And it’s about how this platform has changed my life in ways I didn’t expect.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a member, the next few days is the last time you’ll be able to do so at £75. From January 1st, it moves to £100.

No pressure at all. But if you want to support what comes next, this is the moment.

Either way, thank you for being here. For reading. For caring. For taking this seriously.

You can become a Member HERE.

See you on Substack in a few days time,
Jordan
