🎉 TLP is Going to Another Level

I’m writing this from a hotel room in Abu Dhabi. I’ve taken a few days away with my wife after what has easily been the most intense period of work I’ve ever had.

Even as I try to switch off, the feedback coming in from Saudi Series Episode 1 has been overwhelming. Humbling to be honest. If you’ve watched it, thank you.

I uploaded my first long-form video on 15 January 2024, I had 98 subscribers at the time:

Somehow, in under two years, this community has grown to nearly 130,000 people.

It’s hard to put into words what that feels like, gratitude doesn’t quite cover it.

This summer, I knew I wanted to make something about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I knew it deep within me, I just didn’t know the format. Shortform videos are not long enough. One YouTube video wasn’t enough either. I didn’t know the format, I just had a feeling that it mattered.

So I put up a simple landing page to see if anyone else thought the same. Within a week, 750 people had signed up. By the end of the month, it was 1,000. That was the moment I realised this was a project worth doing properly.

The problem was that I didn’t expect it to become this detailed. The politics, the power, the money, the geopolitics, the sport. Every thread led to three more. It took far longer to research, it took ages to script. Recording took me hours.

But now its here and I’m proud of it in a way I’ve never been proud of anything I’ve made online.
